Pictures!

Hi!
These are some pictures that sort of describe what has been going on in the past few months. To the right: this is my boyfriend, Nate. We have been dating for almost six months now! He is really really amazing! My best friend!
The other pictures are from my China trip! The first is from a traditional show in Xi'an, the second is a picture of The Great Wall (a really beautiful place!), and the third picture is a river in Yhangshuo. The river was defiantly an adventure! We got on bamboo rafts and went down waterfalls. Very scary, but very fun! My China trip was so wonderful!

My favorite place!

(He really is the coolest person I know!) :)

Hello! Haven't Died!

There is so much explaining to do!! I guess I will attempt to do that now...
Goodness! It has been months since I have wrote on here! I'm very sorry, since summer has started I have been insanely busy!

First of all, Bigen is at a friends right now. She will probably buy him after I come back from China.
Big and I's problems just were getting tough. It wasn't fun to go to the barn anymore.. I am leaving for china in a week. I wouldn't have been able to ride him for three weeks straight! (and we all know how that ends up with thoroughbreds!) He was just too much for me after the injury.

Second, Ms. Belle has been doing great lately. I have  been working to get back some muscle she lost through the months. I am hoping to get my C1 on her. I'm still not sure if she will be ready by September.

Thrid, tomorrow night I leave for the beach! I will be gone for a week there, back one day, then get on a plane for CHINA! I am super super excited! It is the first time I will travel out of country.

Fourth, yes, I am looking for a new horse. A horse I can compete with now and will take care of me! I don't want to be training all of high school! Right now is the best time for showing and I am missing out!

 Ah! need to pack!

With love,
   Sara!
(Oh, and I miss school very very much.)

River Glen!

Cutie!

First novice jump belle has done... over jumping but still!

2' 6"

coop 2'6"
My dressage lesson with Joni was AWESOME! I'm still feeling the pain! Belle was amazing in cross country too! We did a lot of ditchs, logs, coops, and water jumps. She is so good. :) We did all 2' 6" jumps and a couple up to 3" (just the easy ones)

I don't really know to what to say!

Yesterday Bigen and I had a bad day. Didn't do anything but walking on a long rein.. then he randomly took off..again. Ugh...maybe it was the sudden change of weather..it's now 80 degrees everyday with high humidity. I don't know, maybe I thought things would get better fast. It looks like this is going to be a long summer.

Last Three Rides

Last Night, This Morning, and a few minutes ago.

Last Night: Better than yesterday morning, I only walked I didn't want to even raise the slightest hoof towards a fast speed...I also rode in the pasture again, it is a nice and relaxing (but still keeps his attention). We went for 20 minutes.

This morning went very well! I walked, like normal, for about 10-15 minutes. I then spent 10 minutes trotting up and down hills. Bigen didn't try to push it. He actually tried to walk a few times. He knows how serious I am now.. rode for about 25-30 minutes.

This evening's ride was also great, I only walked again. Because I didn't want him thinking it was a habit. I would much rather thinking when we can walk other than when can we gallop! I walked the tree line and hills where we trotted this morning just to get it in his head. We worked on backing and side passing too. He anticipated going out of the gate...so I made him halt for 10 seconds, back, forward, halt, circle away, then back up all the way through the gate. Haha TAKE THAT tricky monster!

I lovez jeww big. (Even.. if you don't trust me now.)

Morning (4-5-11, 8:00am)

I changed my bit to a double twisted wire. I hate that it is so server but he actually listens to me now.

This morning was decent. We only walked, in the top, flat part of the pasture. It stormed so bad last night the arenas were soup! I let him trot a small bit up hill, but after I told him to walk, he kept pushing to trot again. I made him side pass, back, tracking, halting... I shortened and lengthed my reins a lot too, really making sure my seat was balanced and light. I didn't let him try anything. In one word about today's ride - Safety.

Hopefully tonights ride will be life-changing. ...ha...ha.
